Newcastle United are still not giving up on Lille defender Sven Botman.

The Magpies are eager to add a top class center-half to their squad this summer.

According to The Times, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe still hopes they can prize Botman away from Lille this summer.

The 22-year-old is also a key target for Serie A winners AC Milan.

The Italian giants are said to be the favorites to secure his signature.

The source goes on to suggest that if Newcastle cannot secure Botman, they will turn their attentions to James Tarkowski instead.
