Newcastle United are refusing to give up on Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

Sport says Real Madrid are now considering a move for the 21-year-old.

The Magpies were understood to have had a £35m offer accepted for Soumare in January - only for the player to reject the move. But they remain determined to convince the youngster this summer.

Lille accepted an offer for him from Newcastle in the final week of the winter market.

The Toon's proposal was for a fee rising to €60m.
