Newcastle are readying a bid for West Ham fullback Harrison Ashby.

The Mirror says Newcastle are preparing to swoop in and save Ashby after the 21-year-old has become increasingly frustrated at his role within the club.

Ashby, who has started just twice for West Ham's senior team this season, has long been in a contract stand-off with the Hammers and rumours of a move away from East London have surrounded him throughout the summer and now into the January transfer window.

Since he's out of contract at the end of the season, now looks like the only time the Hammers might be able to get rid of him for some sort of deal without him leaving for nothing.

Ashby is 'frustrated' at West Ham and that Eddie Howe's Magpies now have revived interest in the youngster after hearing the news.
