Newcastle ready to take Granit Xhaka off Arsenal hands

Newcastle United are ready to take Granit Xhaka off Arsenal's hands.

The Telegraph says the Switzerland midfielder is expected to leave Arsenal in the new year and Newcastle will offer him a chance to stay in the Premier League.

AC Milan have been made the early favourites to sign Xhaka, with the player said to have already began his search for a house in the Italian city, but Steve Bruce is confident that the player would be open to moving to the North East.

Xhaka has not played for the Gunners since he was stripped of the captaincy, a decision that was taken after he swore at fans as he was substituted off during their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
