Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini believes that the situation is now serious at St James' Park.
The Magpies crashed to an eighth consecutive league defeat on Saturday, losing 3-0 at Leicester City, and now have a relegation battle on their hands.
Newcastle are now just two points above the relegation zone with serious concerns over their Premier League future given their dreadful form under caretaker coach John Carver.
"Any players who wants to play in the Championship must be stupid," said Coloccini.
"It would be crazy to think like that. Now, we all have to understand that our position is serious."
