Newcastle United are eyeing Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.

The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle are considering a move for Welbeck.

The striker's Arsenal contract expires in the summer, so United wouldn't have to pay a single penny.

Welbeck has failed to impress at the Gunners after falling out of favour behind Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, he could yet be offered new terms by Arsenal on instruction from manager Unai Emery.
