Newcastle are plotting a swoop for Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs, according to the Mirror.

The 27-year-old, who has progressed through Arsenal youth academy, has fallen down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.

Gibbs could manage only 11 league appearances for the Gunners last season, and he has been told by the club that he can leave this summer.

The England international, who has only one year left on his current deal, is valued at £8m by the Gunners.
