Newcastle plan swap offer for Leeds midfielder Gradel

Newcastle United are launching a swap bid for Leeds United midfielder Max Gradel.

The Daily Mail says Toon will offer Leon Best in exchange for Gradel in January.

New manager Alan Pardew is intent on adding to his attacking options to safeguard Barclays Premier League status, and is keen on the versatile Gradel, who has also attracted attention from Wigan.

But with Leeds manager Simon Grayson having shown interest in Best, Pardew is keen to strike a deal in the New Year.
