Newcastle United midfielder Kyle Scott has rejected a contract offer from FC Cincinnati.
The Evening Chronicle says the 23-year-old impressed while on trial with FC Cincinnati and sources say he was offered a two-year deal which could have been extended for a further 24 months.
However the former Chelsea youngster rejected the chance and has returned to the UK.
Scott received hundred of messages from Cincinnati fans urging him to sign for the club but a source says the offer 'just fell short' and he is now 'exploring other options.'
It's understood Scott has his heart set on staying in Europe - and is looking for a side in a top flight. The midfielder is said to understand that at his age, first team football is now a must.
