Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser has dubbed his season with Rotherham United the best of his career.
The Gateshead-born midfielder was an integral part of Rotherham's side which was awarded promotion to the Championship following the premature ending of the season due to the COVID-19 crisis - with the team in second place.
Barlaser posted to social media: "We got what we set out for at the start of the season which was promotion back to the Championship but we are gutted that we couldn't finish the season.
"On a personal level it's the best year in my career and I am leaving a better person and player.
"I would like to thank the fans for the amazing support this season, you have stuck with us through thick and thin."
