Newcastle matchwinner Callum Wilson was delighted with victory over Burnley.
A hard-fought win over Burnley did the trick for Eddie Howe's side as the won their first match in 195 days.
But it came after a tough battle against the Clarets at St James' Park.
Wilson said: "It has been a tough week mentally, physically and emotionally. It is good to top it with a win.
"I came here to score goals and play for a big club.
"I wanted to be that match winner and today it has been that.
"Since Eddie Howe has come in it has been fantastic.
"I gave the lads a heads up (on Howe).
"Everyone has applied themselves great. It has been a long time coming. "Hopefully, this is a catalyst for other things"
