Newcastle United are eyeing Torino defender Perr Schuurs.

The Holland international only moved to Toro last year from Ajax and has been outstanding in his first season in Serie A.

Such has been his impact that Toro are already facing a battle to keep hold of Schuurs this summer.

Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio is reporting Newcastle are following the defender with the aim to bringing him to Tyneside.

And contact has now been made with Schuurs' minders.
