Newcastle United have made a surprise move for PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
The Daily Mail says Gueye has opted to reject the chance to join Newcastle United on loan from Paris Saint-Germain despite initial positive talks.
The former Everton midfielder will be allowed to leave Paris but rejected the offer from Tyneside after being unsure about the move.
Gueye joined the Paris giants from Merseyside in the summer of 2019 for £30million.
Things have stagnated for the 31-year-old this season. Gueye has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG so far but completed 90 minutes just once since October.
He came on for just nine minutes in PSG's shock 3-2 defeat to Lorient on Sunday.
