Newcastle loanee LuaLua focussing on Brighton stay

Brighton winger Kazenga LuaLua wants to impress during his loan stay on the South Coast and does not know if he will be recalled by Newcastle. LuaLua, who is at the Withdean Stadium until 3 January, has been contacted by Magpies' boss Chris Hughton.

He told BBC Sussex: "They [Newcastle] came to watch me against Carlisle but I didn't have a good game.

"I don't know if they'll recall me. I'm enjoying myself in Brighton. The team is playing well and winning games."

The 19-year-old spent the final four months of last season on loan at Brighton, but a hamstring problem restricted him to just 11 appearances.

"Last season when I was playing Saturday, Tuesday I kept doing my hamstring," LuaLua added.

"This season the manager wants me to be more serious and let him know when I have a problem.

"I've only had a hamstring problem once this season and I feel fine now."
