While Ginola feels it will be hard for Newcastle back in the top flight, he is glad that the Mags don't have to endure another Leeds scenario after the Yorkshire side failed to regain their Premier League status in 2004.
Ginola, a close pal of Hughton after working with the Toon chief at Spurs, told the Evening Chronicle: "To get up at the first attempt was very important.
"If you don't do that, it's hard. Stress kicks in and you lose confidence.
"Now they are back where they belong and if there is a team and a set of fans that deserve a Premier League place, it's Newcastle.
"It was a big, big disappointment when Newcastle went down and such a bad experience.
"But it could end up having been a good experience if it is a lesson about what happens if you don't invest properly. Newcastle don't belong in the Championship.
"I hope that they aren't coming back up just to have to scrap against that again."
