Everton are interested in signing Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul and Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Alex Witsel, according to the Daily Express.
The report states that the Toffees have started shaping up their transfer strategy following the appointment of Ronald Koeman as the club's manager and both Krul and Witsel are genuine summer targets.
Koeman wants Dutch goalkeeper Krul, who missed the majority of last season with a cruciate injury, to replace departed veteran Tim Howard at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, Witsel is in the last year of his deal with Zenit and state his desire to leave the club in the summer. The Merseysiders are competing with Serie A side AS Roma for his services.
