Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper admits Leeds United's demise has acted as a warning to the players since their relegation.
Harper believes it has been a case of "so far, so good" with Newcastle maintaining the leadership of the second tier and still pulling in 43,000-plus crowds - bigger than many in the Premier League.
When asked if he feared a Leeds scenario after the Magpies' painful relegation, Harper told the Evening Chronicle: "There are some massive teams in this division.
"You just have to look down the table in this league.
"There are big clubs: Sheff Wed, Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and West Brom - the list goes on and on.
"There are clubs who have had a taste of the Premier League and have come down. Just look at Leeds. Look at the problems they have had going into League One.
"You cannot take anything for granted and I know a lot of sceptics thought we would struggle - but so far so good."
