Newcastle keeper Dubravka: Relegation? We're aiming high

Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka believes that his side are aiming a lot higher than survival this season.

While Newcastle have not enjoyed the best start to the season, everyone in the team believes they will get on a winning run soon enough.

And Dubravka feels they have enough to climb the Premier League table, instead of flirting with relegation all season.

"There is our balance [in attack and defence], but there are even more positive things," Dubravka said to Slovakian outlet SME Sport.

"We have had a hard time, playing against the big teams Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham. We did get a point [against Cardiff], but we have not picked up as many as we wanted.

"On the other hand, we have shown that we are ready to play with the best teams as well, but we have to go ahead with a goal.

"The pre-season goals were to finish as high we did last year, in 10th place. We have not started the season well, but it is still very long.

"Definitely [our primary goal] stay in the Premier League and, later, in the second part of this year, switch to going higher up the league."
