Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is eyeing Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne.
The People says Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelottu will decide on the England Under-21 international's future this week, with the Toon keen to take him on loan.
Ancelotti said: "Michael is training with us now and we have to consider him a Chelsea player. But we will take a decision this week about his situation. He could stay or maybe go on loan."
Chelsea could still decide to sell Mancienne but their £6 million valuation is likely to put off buyers.
