This weekend's exhibition match between Newcastle Jets and MLS giants LA Galaxy is about 2,000 tickets from being sold out.

Saturday, November 27 sees the Jets host David Beckham, Landon Donovan and co. at EnergyAustralia Stadium and tickets sales are progressing very well.

Jets Director of Membership Richard Fisk confirmed that sales numbers were very positive and urged football fans in the Hunter region to get in quick to be a part of history.

"When we had the problems with the ground we sort of pulled back on selling the tickets for the event and went into a bit of a lull," he said.

"Progressively we see every day ticket numbers going up and up and up as the interest and the momentum starts to push.

"So yes, if you want to go and see David Beckham I would get in early."
