Newcastle Jets CEO Robbie Middleby has denied claims that Millwall were set to open talks with club captain Ruben Zadkovich.
The 27-year old midfielder, who was a part of Australia's East Asian Cup squad, is being linked with a possible move to the Championship club but Middleby said in a statement that there had been no contact from the South London outfit.
"Ruben was scheduled to have a week off following his commitments with the Socceroos," Middleby said in a written statement released by the Jets.
"He asked for the opportunity to take up Millwall's offer of a visit during this time and we have accommodated that request.
"At this stage, we have not received any formal offer for Ruben and he remains a Newcastle Jets player."
