Newcastle United are interested in PSG defender Abdou Diallo.

Foot Mercato says Newcastle plan a January move for Diallo with their defence in desperate need to strengthening.

Former Borussia Dortmund prospect Diallo is a natural centre-half, though has been fielded at left-back by PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Diallo, 25, has managed just five starts this season and would be open to a loan switch in January.

His contract with PSG runs to 2024.
