Newcastle United insist new coach Neil Redfearn hasn't arrived to replace Peter Beardsley.
The Daily Star says Redfearn has been drafted in to work alongside reserve team boss Ben Dawson and goalkeeping coach Steve Harper while ex-Arsenal and Everton start Kevin Richardson has also been in the dug-out for recent Under-23 games.
The club insist that Redfearn, who spent eight years at Leeds including a stint as manager, has joined the Magpies purely on a temporary basis.
Former England international Beardsley is still on gardening leave, nine months after an investigation was launched into claims of bullying when he was Under-23 coach.
Beardsley has not been seen at the club's Academy since being ordered to stay away by managing director Lee Charnley on January 9.
