Newcastle United are trying to persuade Matty Longstaff to reject an offer from Udinese.
Reports broke this week claiming the Serie A club had tabled a contract to Longstaff worth £30,000-a-week over five years.
It is an incredible offer and would make the 20-year-old Udinese's highest paid-player, while his family would also receive a £2m signing-on fee.
But the Telegraph says Toon have revised their initial offer £15,000-a-week to keep the local lad at St. James' Park.
Longstaff is earning only £850-a-week at the Magpies, where he has become one of the club's brightest stars this season.
