Former Newcastle United star Nolberto Solano has handed some useful advice to new boy Florian Thauvin.


Thauvin was another one of Newcastle's big money signings this summer and the Frenchman has managed to impress the fans already with his performances so far.

Magpies hero Solano has also been encouraged by what he has seen from Thauvin but has warned the young Frenchman that he has a lot hard work to do if he is to succeed in England.

Solano told the Chronicle: "I have been really impressed by him. But he has some hard work ahead of him.

"I know what it is like being a young lad arriving in Newcastle when the focus is on you. It was tough for me.

"But you have to be strong, you have to learn to focus on performing on the pitch and concentrate on your job.

"If you do that the supporters will love you.

"You have to put football first and do the right thing for the team and the club."
