Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has made it vehemently clear that the club has no intention to sell Moussa Sissoko.

The French midfielder has been linked with plenty of clubs in recent weeks including Manchester United, who reportedly have him lined up as a contingency for Paul Pogba, as well as Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham United.

The Magpies have reportedly increased their valuation of Sissoko to £35million in a bid to ward off interested suitors but Benitez says there is no asking price for the 26-year-old France international who they hold in high esteem as they prepare for the 2016/17 in the Championship.

"People are talking about 'this price' or 'this price' but we don't want to sell, so we haven't put any price," said Benitez.

"We are pleased with him. We know he finished the season in really good form for us - I made him the captain - so I rate him really highly.

"I appreciate him too much to think that we will miss him. We know he has done really well and a lot of people will be talking about him. But we'd like to see him here and that's it.

"I'm really disappointed because France couldn't win the final but I was really pleased for Sissoko, though, because he was doing really well."
