Alan Shearer is set to take the reins at Welsh Championship club Cardiff City.
The Newcastle United great has already been backed in by the bookies and now reports have vindicated that confidence.
Shearer is set to be appointed as Dave Jones' replacement, putting him back into the management game following his short stint at St James' Park back in the 2008/09 season.
Cardiff finished fourth on the Championship table last season but failed in the playoff semi-finals, losing to Reading, which subsequently lost Jones his job.
