Newcastle go for McNeil, Fraser

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is in the market for an attacking midfielder.

The Daily Star says Benitez remains keen on Burnley wideman Dwight McNeil and Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser who is also an Arsenal target.

Liverpool's Welsh international Harry Wilson, currently on loan at Derby, is another on his radar.

It's now eight days since he met Toon owner Mike Ashley to discuss his and the club's future plans but as yet there has been no word from either Benitez or the board whether he is staying.

But he's pressing on with plans to reshape the Newcastle squad on the assumption he'll still be there come August.
