Newcastle United have gone the extra mile to make Atlanta United attacker Miguel Almiron their record signing.
Almiron has landed in Newcastle to become their £20m record signing - as it was revealed the club have taken out an overdraft with Barclays Bank.
The Paraguayan No10 is completing a medical on Tyneside and was due to sign from MLS champions Atlanta United, as Newcastle United launched a last minute transfer frenzy.
The Mirror says the Almiron deal means Newcastle , who made a £20m profit on transfers in the summer, have now broken even on deals this season.
But fans have raised questions about the state of the club's finances after details of an overdraft were published by Companies House.
Newcastle should be cash rich on an operating level, having banked £125.9m from TV money last season for finishing tenth.
