Newcastle getting serious about Bournemouth left-back Kelly

Newcastle United are pushing ahead with a £12 million summer move for Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly.

The Saudi Arabian owned club are set to splash the cash in the summer, as they look very unlikely to be relegated from the Premier League.

Manager Eddie Howe wants to improve his defence, having failed to sign the likes of Diego Carlos and Sven Botman in the winter window.

According to the Express, the Magpies see Kelly as a key target in the summer, regardless of whether Bournemouth are in the Premier League or Championship next term.

He can also play at left-back, which will be ideal for their upcoming season, as Howe ensures he can build a team to qualify for Europe through the Premier League.
