Newcastle fullback Kieran Trippier had a message for Tottenham fans after last night's victory over Arsenal.

The Magpies triumphed 2-0 at St James' Park on Monday night as Arsenal collapsed under pressure once again.

After losing the North London Derby on Thursday, they missed another opportunity to go above Tottenham.

Mikel Arteta's side are now two points behind their bitter rivals in the table and look unlikely to usurp them for fourth place and the crucial final qualifying spot for the Champions League.

And former Spurs star Trippier posted on social media after the game to his one million followers to rub salt in Arsenal wounds.

He said: "Excellent by the lads tonight, once again showing what we are capable of @nufc.

"I hope you enjoyed that one tonight @spursofficial fans," followed by a cry-laughing emoji.
