Newcastle United fullback Massadio Haidara admits the amount of French players on the books helped him settle last season.
Haidara arrived in January from Nancy.
"I do not know if it helped everyone, but personally it helped me. I did not speak a word of English, so I needed help. So yes, personally, it helped me," he told Foot Mercato.
"I know that, overall, we're loved by the Newcastle fans, who love their players.
"(But) like always, when things are good they say it is good to have the French, and when things go wrong they will say the opposite, and that there are too many.
"For me, the problem is not there, football is played with the feet. As we come to understand eachother, there'll be no problems."
