Olympique Marseille midfielder Florian Thauvin insists he has no regrets over his ill-fated spell at Newcastle United.
Thauvin has rebuilt his career at OM since his time in England.
But he told Onze Mundial: "My trip to England? It has been beneficial to me. You know, in every evil, we find a good. It was beneficial to me because it made me grow up, we ended up alone with my girlfriend in England. Then, at a certain moment, we looked at each other and said, 'What are we doing here?'.
"There, I was clearly not given my chance. I arrived, I played two or three games as the starter and the fourth match, our striker gets a red card and I am pushed up front against Arsenal. This is not my job and there is no miracle.
"After, I never played again. Those who say or think I cannot impose myself in England are wrong. It's totally wrong. Maybe at the time, yes. Today is totally wrong. I changed, I grew up, I matured, I know myself better and I progressed."
