Newcastle United are finalising a deal for Swansea City defender Federico Fernandez.

The Daily Mail says Fernandez is on his way to Newcastle for a mooted £6million deal.

But the clubs have yet to agree a final fee for the defender.

It might be bad news in the pursuit of Marlon Santos, of Barcelona, though who looks like failing in his attempt to get a work permit.
