Newcastle United fear the worst over an injury suffered by striker Leon Best.
The Mirror says Best injured himself badly in training yesterday.
Republic of Ireland striker Best, 23, sustained suspected ruptured ankle ligaments.
The forward, signed from Coventry in January, has gone for a scan and is seeing a London specialist.
If Best's worst fears are confirmed he could face up to three months on the sidelines which would be a big blow to boss Chris Hughton.
