Newcastle United are reportedly showing significant interest in Crystal Palace's Dwight Gayle.

Reports suggest that Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is keen on luring the 25-year-old striker from Selhurst Park to St James' Park as he strives to lead the club back to the Premier League.

The Sun is of the belief that Newcastle are willing to pay £10million for Gayle who continues to be used as a bit-part player by Alan Pardew.

Gayle is contracted with the Eagles until next summer but is eager for regular game time and could jump at the chance to work with Benitez at a club the size of Newcastle.
