Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin says he was at fault for the decisive penalty conceded in defeat to Crystal Palace.

Yedlin ended up costing United three points when upending Wilfried Zaha with 10 minutes left.

Luka Milivojević calmly converted after Stuart Attwell had awarded the late spot-kick and Yedlin faced up to the situation after the game .

He said: “I can't really argue with the ref on that as I know I caught him.

“I don't think I slid in and tried to take him down, I slowed down and caught him.

“I did catch him so I can't argue with the ref's decision."
