Fabricio Coloccini wants to stay with Newcastle United.
The Evening Chronicle says the £10m defender is one of manager Alan Pardew's candidates to captain the Magpies next term - a job which he carried out to good effect last season, notably when he powered home a dramatic late equaliser against Wigan.
Coloccini has told close friends that he is "99% certain" to stay at United.
But, like any player, he would be obliged to talk to bidding clubs if an offer is accepted and would work in full accordance with Newcastle.
