Avram Grant is being considered for a role at Newcastle United following the departure of Rafa Benitez.

Grant has previously had spells as manager of Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham - as well as the Israeli national side.

The 64-year-old currently works as technical adviser for Indian Super League side NorthEast United.

Sky Sports claim Toon are interested in bringing the Israeli back to England.

The club announced on Monday that Benitez would leave St. James' Park when his contract expires at the end of this month.r
