Manchester United are ready to sell Jesse Lingard this summer - and Newcastle United could pounce.

The England international is hoping to attract interest from a host of clubs around Europe, but the Newcastle interest could be the most enticing proposition for both parties.

Lingard has struggled at United in the past two years, as he scored his first goal since December 2018 in their last day 2-0 win over Leicester City.

He will get chances to impress in the Europa League knockouts, and Newcastle will monitor his performances in those games to see if he still has what it takes.

The 27-year-old has a year left on his contract, and would play under former United centre-half Steve Bruce if he joined Newcastle.

Borussia Monchengladbach and Roma are also monitoring Lingard.
