Newcastle United are closing in on Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley.

Newcastle No.2 Iain Dowie is a Hartley fan and tried to sign him from Hearts when he was boss of Crystal Palace.

The Toon will have a massive summer clear-out and if Dowie stays with the Geordie giants he will recommend snapping up the Hoops star.
