Newcastle United are on the verge of signing Grant Hanley, according to reports from the Chronicle.

Newcastle have made it no secret of their desire to sign Hanley this summer but they have faced a lot of frustration in their pursuit after having two bids of around £3.5million and £4.5million rejected by Blackburn Rovers.

Finally as a breakthrough, the Chronicle have gone on to reveal that Newcastle have had a bid of around £5.5m accepted and now the Magpies are on the verge of securing a deal for the Scottish international.
