Newcastle United managing director Amanda Staveley says the board were "incredibly impressed" by Eddie Howe in his interview ahead of his appointment.
Howe impressed the owners with his pitch and plans and the 43-year-old is desperate to get started after more than a year out of the game.
The owners are understandably pleased to have finally landed their man - Mehrdad Ghodoussi tweeted 'onwards and upwards' - and Staveley has explained how Howe made it easy for them.
"We have been incredibly impressed by Eddie through what has been a rigorous recruitment process," the part-owner said.
"As well as his obvious achievements with AFC Bournemouth, where he had a transformational impact, he is a passionate and dynamic coach who has clear ideas about taking this team and club forward.
"He is a great fit for what we are trying to build here. We are delighted to welcome Eddie and his staff to St. James' Park and very much look forward to working together towards our collective ambitions."
The new boss will hope to make the most of the international break to prepare for a huge game against Brentford on November 20.
