Newcastle United chief scout Steve Nickson has returned to Brazil.

Nickson flew out to South America this week.

It's emerged Newcastle have been offered Fiorentina's Brazilian fullback Dodo.

ChronicleLive says Nickson was integral in the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon, having flown to Brazil to close the deal in January 2022. Nickson worked closely with agency Bertolucci Sports to reach terms.

He then returned to watch Santos teen Angelo Gabriel last summer. The 18-year-old is keen on a move to England.
