Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley says the club will continue to innovate in order to bring fans back to St James' Park.
In a bid to stop dwindling crowds at St. James' Park, Toon have handed out 10,000 free half-season tickets to all current season ticket holders.
Charnley told the Chronicle: "This (the half-season ticket deal) was another example of us thinking if this could make a difference, which we think it can, filling the stadium and getting it noisy and loud and behind the team, let's give it a go and try it.
"We believe it will work and make a difference."
