Newcastle United are preparing a bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.
The Daily Mail says Magpies boss Alan Pardew wants to strengthen his forward line this summer and has identified the England Under 21 international as target.
Initial overtures have already taken place regarding a potential move to St James' Park for Berahino, though a decision on his future is unlikely to be made before West Brom appoint their next manager.
Berahino's future has been uncertain ever since a dressing room bust-up with James Morrison after the 3-3 draw against Cardiff last season.
