Newcastle have joined the race to sign Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham.
The 21-year-old is currently enjoying a fine loan spell with Aston Villa, having scored 16 Championship goals this season.
However, the Blues have an option to recall Abraham in January and are believed to be keen on sending him to another Premier League club.
Crystal Palace have emerged as a potential suitor.
AndThe Northern Echo report Newcastle will challenge Palace for the Englishman's signature.
Toon manager Rafa Benitez is desperate for January reinforcements as he aims to help the club avoid relegation. They are currently in 14th place, four points off the drop zone.
