Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles has dismissed criticism of describing owner Mike Ashley as a "nice guy".
Lascelles was hammered for the comments, despite signing a new long-term deal.
He told BBC Sport: "It was the first time I had met him [Mike Ashley] and I'm not putting aside anybody's feelings or frustrations the club or Mike. I got asked a question 'when you met him, how did you find him?' - you know at the dinner I was sat around him with a couple of team mates and staff members and we just had a meal.
"Man to man, we had a bit of a laugh. We didn't talk about to do with the club, it was simply just on a personal level. So we didn't get into anything too deep and I'm not putting aside anyone's feelings."
