Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is impressed by the early impact of Borussia Monchengladbach loan signing Luuk de Jong.
De Jong, 23, could partner 11-goal Loic Remy - back from a three-match ban - in today's home game against Aston Villa.
Pardew said: "The training has had a bit of an impact on Luuk. It's faster, it's stronger and more physical in training over here, let alone in games.
"I look at Wilfried Bony at Swansea and he started slowly there. There's a big change in the way the game is played here but Luuk is getting to grips with it.
"He's a terrific lad and has the type of personality you can't help but like. He's integrated very quickly. I hope he's going to be a big asset between now and the end of the season.
"I spoke to him this week and we said it's not been the easiest time for him to come here. We've not given him the platform to show what he can do.
"It's important we get on the front foot and give him, Loic, Papiss and Shola Ameobi the ammunition.''
