Newcastle boss Pardew doesn't regret missing Remy deal

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew doesn't regret losing Loic Remy to Chelsea.

The former QPR striker snubbed the chance to make his loan move a permanent one at the end of the season as he went in search of bigger and better things after the World Cup.

"We felt we were close again with Loic," said Pardew.

"We really hung our hat on him to think that he might come but the opportunity to play for Chelsea in the Champions League was too strong.

"I have no regrets about our offer. I also carry no bad feeling because it's fantastic club he's gone to and a chance to win medals.

"I think all football players want to win so I understood that.

"We are looking forward to seeing him and it will be nice to say hello."
